My first blog, here we go… I would like to say that if any of you are thinking about a trip to Milwaukee with children ages 5 and up, you need to check out Discovery World. I’m not trying to say that children under the age of 5 shouldn’t go, because they do have the Reiman Aquarium that is fun for all ages. However, they have a lot of fun interactive things to do and some of the activities smaller children will not be able to enjoy like the older children.
There is so much to do here and so many interactive exhibits. Johnson Controls TechnoJungle has many fun interactive exhibits that let you explore new technology, inventions, and ideas that are emerging in today’s ever changing world. We got to play with a vein finder and my daughter laid on a bed of nails.
Locate the “Kohls Design It!” area and let your child’s imagination run wild. Here there are employees that will help your child make a creation of his or her own of the creation menu. Choose from rings, bracelets, cardboard houses, vases made from recycled bottles, and many other neat craft ideas.
Once you have made it to through the many exhibits of the technology section, you are not even close to finished. You still have the Great Lakes exhibit, tour “The Challenger”, and check out the Badger Meter Liquid House that is within the City of Freshwater exhibit. Of course, while you are on that side of the museum don’t forget about the Reiman Aquarium in the lower level. Discovery World does offer a few other add-on features. You can take a tour of the aquarium behind the scenes and experience what any other Discovery World goers may not get to experience. Right now Discovery World has the Tesla Lives Experience. It was an extra $6 for each person and they did many different electricity experiments.
Keep in mind that I have only listed a few of the exhibits. So if you have not been there yet, I definitely recommend checking this place out. It is a fun learning experience for all ages. Also be sure to Google coupons for Discovery World. My boyfriend’s sister was able to find us a coupon that was $5 off per person. To be honest with you, the prices are not too bad saving is even better.
